City of Fullerton’s 24th Annual Veterans Day observance
Thursday, Nov. 10
- The program begins at 10a.m.
- At the Fullerton Community Center (temporarily housed at St. Mary’s Church, 400 W. Commonwealth Ave., during construction of a new community center).
- Includes a dramatic presentation of WWII era President Harry S. Truman.
- Veterans in attendance will be invited to share their rememberances, photos and mementos.

Parade and Ceremony Friday, Nov. 11
- 10:30 a.m. a parade start at Fullerton’s Downtown Plaza and ending at Hillcrest Park.
- 11 a.m. a ceremony will be held at at the Veterans Memorial

Parade
- 10:30am
- Begins at the Downtown Plaza, located on Wilshire Avenue, east of Harbor Boulevard and adjacent to the Fullerton Museum Center.
- Ends at Hillcrest Park, which is located at the intersection of Harbor and Valley View Drive.
- Leading off the parade will be a special “fly-over” of the route by planes from Air Combat USA, which is based at Fullerton Airport.
- All veterans are welcome to join in the parade.
- Features ROTC units from area high schools.
- The Troy High School unit will carry flags representing all 50 U.S. states.
- Participants
- Are asked to arrive at the plaza no earlier than 10 a.m.
- To march in the parade, veterans must be able to march in regular cadence for approximately three-quarters of a mile.
- No banners other than the flags carried by the JROTC units will be allowed in the parade.
Ceremony
- 11:00am
- Located at the Veterans Memorial in Hillcrest Park
- Guest Speaker Clinton J. Reiss, regimental command sergeant major for the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment at Ft. Irwin.
- Placement of wreaths at the Veterans Memorial
- Playing of “Taps.”
Hosted by Fullerton American Legion Post 142.
