CALL TO ORDER
Chair Russell called the meeting to order at 4:04 p.m.

REGULAR BUSINESS (Items 1 - 5)
1. MAINTENANCE OF PARKS AND BUILDINGS
Landscape Superintendent Dennis Quinlivan introduced the organizational chart and functions of the Landscape Division, Maintenance Services Department. His presentation included an explanation of the division’s responsibilities, staffing issues and requests, and concluded with an overview of the Tree Division. The presentation was followed by a discussion with the Commission.
The next presentation was made by Building and Facilities Superintendent Lyman Otley of the Building and Facilities Division, Maintenance Services Department. His presentation included an explanation of the division’s responsibilities, personnel, and the 30-Year Capital Program. The presentation was followed by a discussion with the Commission.
2. DEPARTMENT ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE AND OVERVIEW
Director Ron Molendyk introduced the organizational chart and functions of the Parks and Recreation Department. This was followed by introducing the division managers of the department.
Manager Judy Peterson introduced the functions of the Family and Senior Services Division. Her presentation summarized the division’s management of youth programs, teen activities, senior citizen programs, family events, and volunteers. Manager Judy Peterson’s division also manages such facilities as Independence Park, Garnet Community Center, and the Richman Community Center. This presentation was followed by a discussion with the Commission.
Manager Grace Carroll Lowe then introduced the functions of the Recreation Division. Her presentation summarized the division’s management of youth and adult sports, class system and brochures, “Get Outdoors” program, park and facility rentals, and online class system. The presentation was followed by a discussion with the Commission.
Manager Dannielle Mauk then introduced the functions of the Cultural and Events Division. Her presentation summarized the division’s management of the Fullerton Museum Center, public art, special events, and educational programs. The presentation was followed by a discussion with the Commission.
3. UPDATE ON CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECTS
Manager Dave Alkema updated the Commission on various Capital Improvements Projects that included sixteen (16) current and nine (9) proposed projects. The presentation was followed by a discussion with the Commission.
4. DEPARTMENT BUDGET: SHORT AND LONG-TERM
Manager Alice Loya introduced the functions of the Administrative Division. Her presentation summarized the division’s management of the budgetary process, park property agreements, and the current and future financial condition of the department.
5. COUNCIL/COMMISSION RESPONSIBILITIES
Director Ron Molendyk concluded by making recommendations to improve the department. The presentation was followed by a discussion with the Commission.
