Fireworks Prohibited in the City of Fullerton
Fire Safety

The sale, use or possession of fireworks, even the so-called “safe and sane” variety, is prohibited in the City of Fullerton.

The decision to ban fireworks was made when Fullerton residents voted in 1990 to outlaw fireworks sales and use in the city.

All illegal fireworks found in the city will be confiscated and persons found using or possessing fireworks may be issued a citation. This warning also applies to fireworks purchased elsewhere and brought into Fullerton.

As an alternative to fireworks, Fullerton's firefighters suggest citizens attend Fullerton's Annual Community Fireworks Show and Festival on, July 4 and First Night in Fullerton on December 31.

Further information about the fireworks prohibition or year-round fire safety may be obtained by calling the Fire Prevention Bureau of the Fullerton Fire Department at (714) 738-6500.
