New Business Tax Schedule
A Business Registration allows a business to operate within the City of Fullerton with the approval of the appropriate regulatory departments. A Business Registration/License from another city is not valid in the City of Fullerton. The certificate is issued for a period of twelve (12) months from the time you begin to conduct business in our city. For example:
- Date registered 03/11/13 Start Date 03/19/13 Certificate expiration date 03/01/14.
- Date registered 03/11/13 Start Date 02/01/13 Certificate expiration date 02/01/14.
- Date registered 03/11/13 Start Date 04/01/13 Certificate expiration date 04/01/14.

A $10.00 administrative processing charge for all renewals, changes, amendments or re-activations of existing registered accounts.

A $ 1.00 required state mandated charge.
A $17.47 zoning review charge for new applications and changes or amendments to the address or activity for all residential and commercially zoned businesses.
A $17.47 building review charge for new applications and changes or amendments to the address or activity for all commercially zoned businesses. Residentially zoned businesses may be subject to a building review charge.
The zoning & building review is done in order to confirm that the business location and activity will comply with the zoning & building code provisions.

Business Tax Renewal Schedule
All Business Registration Certificates expire on the first day of the month and become delinquent on the last day of the month.
Example
- Registration expires 03/01/13 Registrations become delinquent after 03/31/13
- Penalties are calculated on the business tax beginning at 10% per month
Penalty Example
- Registration expires 01/01/13
- Delinquent 01/31/13 (10%); 02/28/13 (20%), etc. until a maximum penalty of 100% is reached.
