Fullerton, Ca – On March 15, 2014, the City of Fullerton and Fullerton Beautiful, Inc. will recognize National "Arbor Day" by coming together to beautify a local park. This Arbor Day 2014 event will be held at 9 a.m. at Woodcrest Park, located at 440 West Orangethorpe Avenue in Fullerton.

Woodcrest Park provides an excellent picnic and play area for children and families of nearby Woodcrest Elementary and the surrounding neighborhood. Facilities at Woodcrest Park include picnic tables, a playground, parking lot, restrooms, softball field, barbecues, and bleacher seating. Phil Kisor, Landscape Maintenance Supervisor for the City of Fullerton commented, “Woodcrest Park gives the families and children of Fullerton a place to spend time together and have fun. Now, it's our turn to give back and help clean up the park. It’s a small gesture that goes a long way.”

Volunteers wanting to participate in this event should bring gloves, water, sturdy shoes, and a hat or sun screen. Volunteers do not need to call in advance to register – just show up on site on Saturday, March 15 at 9 a.m.

For more information, please contact Phil Kisor with the City of Fullerton Public Works Department at (714) 738-5345.
