|Fullerton, CA – Fullerton City Hall will be closed Monday, Nov. 11, in observance of the Veterans Day holiday. It will reopen at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12.|
The Fullerton Main Library, 353 W. Commonwealth Ave., will also be closed on the 11th.
The Main Library's normal operating hours are 10:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday. Patrons wishing to return books during the closure can place them in the Main Library Book Return, located the left of the main entrance.
The administrative offices at Fullerton Municipal Airport will be closed Nov. 11; however, airport operations will proceed as usual, and the Air Traffic Control Tower will be open that day.
The Fullerton Museum Center, 301 N. Pomona Ave., will be open Nov. 11.
On exhibit at the museum through the end of the year is, The Art of Seating: 200 Years of American Design.
The Art of Seating provides audiences with a unique opportunity to see chair types that usually reside in private homes, withheld from public display. The American Chair Collection, the center of this exhibition, is an amazing and comprehensive private collection of iconic and historic chairs reaching back from the mid-1800s to pieces from today's studio movement. The exhibition provides an opportunity to see readily recognizable pieces alongside those rarely seen by the public.
MG Disposal Systems, the city's trash contractor, will not observe the holiday, and will make trash collections on the 11th.
The 26th Annual Fullerton Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony will be held Nov. 11. The parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the Downtown Plaza, located on Wilshire Avenue, east of Harbor Boulevard and adjacent to the Fullerton Museum Center, and end at Hillcrest Park at the intersection of Harbor and Valley View Drive.
Once at Hillcrest, a ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. at the veterans memorials. Guest speaker will be Major General Megan P. Tatu, Commander, 79th Sustainment Support Command, JFTB Los Alamitos, CA.
All veterans are welcome to join in the parade. Participants are asked to arrive at the plaza no earlier than 10 a.m. To participate, veterans must be able to march in regular cadence for approximately three-quarters of a mile.
No banners other than the flags carried by the JROTC units will be allowed in the parade.
The parade and ceremony are sponsored by Fullerton American Legion Post 142 and the Fullerton Emblem Club 469. Further information may be obtained by calling the Fullerton American Legion at (714) 871-2412.
