|Fullerton, CA - - Fullerton Library Director, Maureen Gebelein announced today that as part of the Summer Reading events, they will be hosting a new Library Card design contest. The winning cards will be included with the thousands of library cards that the Fullerton Public Library issues out each year.|
The contest is open to all Fullerton library card holders. Children, teens and adults will have a chance to submit their original artwork for consideration simply by visiting the library and pick up an entry form, or find the form online at www.fullertonlibrary.org/contest. All submissions are due by August 31st. The winners will be selected during September, Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country remind everyone that a library card is the smartest card you can own.
When it comes to achieving success, a library card provides everyone with access to a world of both print and electronic resources. You can access free databases, online help, job resources and attend programs, activities and clubs that provide added value to life experiences and success. It's easy to see why 84 percent of Americans agree that the public library is important to education and over two-thirds of Americans have library cards.
Submissions will be on display on the Library's Pinterest and Facebook pages.
