Fullerton Parks and Recreation Holiday Schedule

Fullerton, Ca – Programs and facilities sponsored by the Fullerton Parks and Recreation Department will be on an abbreviated schedule Monday, Dec. 24, through Tuesday, Jan. 1, for the winter holiday season.

The city's holiday closure program is designed as a cost-saving measure as government business traditionally slows down during the holidays.  The city benefits from reduced heating and electrical usages costs for facilities closed during the period. Three days of paid time off during the period was negotiated in exchange for increased employee sharing of retirement and medical insurance costs during the year.

Following is the holiday schedule for major city recreation facilities:
Fullerton Museum Center Galleries:  closed Dec. 24 and 25 and Jan. 1; open

  • Dec. 26-31    noon-4 p.m. Further information may be obtained by calling the museum at (714) 738-6545.
Independence Park Gymnasium:  closed Dec. 24-25, 30-31 and Jan. 1; and open

  • Dec. 26-27    noon-9 p.m.
  • Dec. 2-29     noon-5 p.m.

Janet Evans Swim Complex at the Community Center:  closed Dec. 24-26 and Dec. 31 and Jan. 1; and open

  • Dec. 27-30    noon-2 p.m.
  • Jan. 2           12:30-3:30 p.m.

  • Dec. 29                  7:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.

  • Jan. 2                                       open regular hours

Tiny Tots program:  closed Dec. 24-Jan. 1.
