Fullerton, Ca – The City of Fullerton is looking to fill vacancies on the following City advisory commission. Deadline for returning the application is 5 p.m. Friday, November 30. 

ARBORETUM COMMISSION
One vacancy; four-year term; qualification for appointment – Fullerton resident. Oversees the development, use and maintenance of the arboretum facility on the campus of California State University Fullerton.

BICYCLE USERS SUB-COMMITTEE
Three vacancies; four-year terms; qualifications for appointment – Fullerton resident or Fullerton employment, active bicyclist. Reviews policies, plans and projects affecting safe bicycle travel within the city.

CITIZENS’ INFRASTRUCTURE REVIEW COMMITTEE
Six vacancies; four-year terms; qualification for appointment – Fullerton resident. Advises on the development and implementation of an action plan designed to address deficiency to City’s infrastructure. 

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CITIZEN’S COMMITTEE
One vacancy for the Southeast Area; four-year term; Qualification for appointment – Fullerton resident of represented area. Provides input to the City Council on the development, implementation and evaluation of Fullerton’s Community Development Block Grant Program, funded through the Federal Housing and Urban Development Department.

ENERGY RESOURCE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
Four vacancies; four-year terms; qualifications for appointment. Fullerton resident. Acts as an advisory body to the City Council on matters relating to energy and resource recovery.

INVESTMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE
One vacancy; four-year term; qualification for appointment – Fullerton resident. Responsible for reviewing and making recommendations on the City’s investment strategy and policy. 

LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Two vacancies; three-year terms; qualification for appointment – Fullerton resident. Has general control of the library’s funds and property; hires the City Librarian subject to City rules and regulations; and sets policy, rules, and regulations for the conduct of library affairs. 

PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION
Four vacancies; four-year terms; qualifications for appointment – Fullerton resident. Serve the City Council as an advisory body on recreation, parks, park design, facilities and programs. 

PLANNING COMMISSION
Four vacancies; four-year terms; qualification for appointment – Fullerton resident. Evaluate development proposals and submit recommendations to the City Council regarding land use matters in the city.

DESIGN REVIEW COMMITTEE
Three vacancies; four-year terms; qualification for appointment – Fullerton resident. Advises the Planning Commission on matters relating to physical design including architecture, site design, signs, and landscaping for all major development projects on properties in the redevelopment areas. 

TECHNOLOGY WORKING GROUP
Eight vacancies; four-year terms; qualifications for appointment – Fullerton resident or Fullerton employment. Assists with the development of a Telecommunications Master Plan that incorporates wireless, fiber optic and new hybrid-fiber-coax (HFC) technologies. 

TRANSPORTATION AND CIRCULATION COMMISSION
Four vacancies; four-year terms; qualification for appointment – Fullerton resident or Fullerton employment. Provides input to the City Council on matters dealing with public transportation and circulation system, facilities, policies, plans and programs. 

UNDERGROUND UTILITIES ADVISORY COMMITTEE
One vacancy; four-year term; qualification for appointment – Fullerton resident. Makes recommendations to the City Council on the establishment of underground utility districts and related matters.

 All positions are unpaid with the exception of the Planning Commission and the Design Review Committee, whose members receive small per-meeting stipends. Some commission and committee members may be required by state law to file ongoing conflict of interest disclosure statements.

 Completed applications must be returned to the City Clerk’s Office.
