What is you fitness level? Find out at the Community Center’s free functional fitness testing event for seniors on either of two Fridays, November 2 or November 9, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., by appointment. The assessment process will take approximately one hour to complete.
You are encouraged to participate in this free physical fitness assessment, which will test factors such as upper and lower body strength and flexibility, cardiovascular endurance, speed, agility and balance. Additionally, seniors are asked to complete the fitness assessment before using the fitness room and fitness equipment at the Community Center. Call the Center’s senior programs line at (714) 738-6305 to preregister for the testing event.
The fitness assessment program was designed by gerontologists at California State University, Fullerton, as a means of evaluating the critical physical parameters associated with functional mobility across a wide range of older adults – from the borderline frail to the physically fit. The testing event is sponsored by and will be conducted by the CSUF Center for Successful Aging program.
The Fullerton Community Center is located at 340 W. Commonwealth Avenue, west of Harbor Boulevard, in Amerige Park. Further information about other programs and services may be obtained by calling the center at (714) 738-6575.
