Fullerton, CA - Over 500 members of the Fullerton community gathered in front of the brand new Fullerton Community Center to celebrate its official opening with an Open House and Ribbon Cutting. Dignitaries across Orange County, including Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez, Supervisor Shawn Nelson along with representatives from the offices of Congressman Ed Royce and Assembly member, Chris Norby joined Fullerton Mayor, Sharon Quirk-Silva and the City Council in the festivities.
In her opening remarks, Mayor Quirk-Silva said, “…this Community Center is MORE than a building. It is, as the name implies, a place for the entire community. This is why we have a Community Center. A place, where we have literally, something for everyone--from the young in years….to the young at heart. “
The Fullerton Community Center uniquely combines the Fullerton Senior Club with the Boys & Girls Club of Fullerton and the City’s Parks and Recreation Department all under one roof.
With approximately 48,000 square feet, the Center houses an indoor pool, fitness center, official size gymnasium, dance studio, computer lab, billiard tables, classrooms and a grand hall for banquets and special events.
Located at 340 West Commonwealth Ave. in Fullerton, the Center will be open from 6:30 am to 10 pm on Mondays to Saturdays and from 8am to 8pm on Sundays.
